DEVIN WALKER

BIO

Devin Walker was always a boy in motion.  “From when I was a little boy, I have loved to move, whether it be in everyday life or to music.  Everything I did seemed to have a rhythm.”  He started dancing on a small Pop Warner team at the age of 12, that’s where he met Hollie and Heather Bettencourt and came to hear about a local All Star Dance program they were involved in.  “I watched them… and began to look up to the All Stars program as a family oriented, uniquely choreographed team, they endured great showmanship and were beasts on the dance floor. I wanted to be a part of it.”  After 2 yrs of hard work on a junior all star squad Mr. Walker was accepted by the All-Stars program and began dancing and training with Hollie and Heather Bettencourt.  “With them I learned technical dance skills in Pom and Jazz and I also got to tap into my passion for hip hop dancing.  From the day I joined the team I realized that my Passion was to MOVE to music and that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”  Mr. Walker has pursued that goal and is, in fact, a Professional Dancer. “As a professional I find that I sometimes have the upper hand because I have mastered technical skills from training with the Bettencourt’s that others haven’t.  Those skills, along with the tenacity, determination, and confidence that I gained from my time with the All Stars, set me on my path to realizing my dream.”  So far Mr. Walker’s dream has included: dancing on many television shows, including the two most acclaimed American Musical Comedy Series in history.  The multi Emmy Award Winning Disney Channel original series “Hannah Montana” and the FOX original blockbuster series “GLEE,”  winner of an astounding 70 Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, and People’s Choice Awards; in movies such as Bring It On 5; in music videos with a variety of recording artists; and in television commercials for Apple Mac Computers and the 2012 Superbowl.  He has toured and performed with country, pop, and hip hop megastars such as the ever popular Miley Cyrus “Best of Both Worlds 2,”  the exciting Kylie Minogue “Atlantis,” the incomparable Shania Twain “Still The One,”  and the  legendary Jennifer Lopez “QVIVA The Chosen.”  “I can't thank the STRUT owners enough for training me, inspiring me and pushing me to the best of my abilities. STRUT owners Hollie and Heather Bettencourt will always be a part of my dance history, my upbringing and most of all my family.  My greatest memory of all time is still dancing the timeless “Prison” themed hip hop piece that we competed and became undefeated with.  Nothing I’ve done to date tops that dance piece…excellence in dance and excellence in life…that’s STRUT.”
